Water Leak Adjustment
It is the policy of the City of Sallisaw to provide partial relief to customers in good standing in the instance a customer has sustained a loss of billable water due to a leak on their premises.
Water lines are subject to leaks due to various causes. The City of Sallisaw is responsible for water service lines up to and including the water meter. The customer is responsible for the water service line from the water meter to the home or building.
If a customer has sustained a water leak, they may request an adjustment to their water billing. To qualify, a customer must meet the following criteria:
- Customer must have suffered a water leak, on their premise, on the water line between the water meter and their home or building. Leaks inside the premise (toilets, faucets, water tanks, etc.) do not qualify for adjustment.
- Customer must have had the leak repaired within 30 days of discovery or notification.
- Customer must not have had a leak adjustment in the preceding 12 months.
- Customer must request an adjustment within 14 days of having the leak repaired.
- Customer must complete the city’s form for requesting a leak adjustment.
- Customer must submit an original receipt from a licensed plumber making the repairs, or receipt for materials/equipment owner used in the repair of the water line.
